Buying Body Bags in Bulk: Quotes, Pricing, VAT and Lead Times

What drives the price?

  • Material and thickness – the biggest factor.
  • Construction – welded seams, extra handles, U-zips and tamper-evident features add cost.
  • Size – bariatric bags use much more material.
  • Quantity – carton and pallet quantities attract better pricing.
  • Imported vs local stock and exchange rates.

VAT

In South Africa, VAT is charged at 15%. Business quotes are usually shown excluding VAT, with VAT and the VAT-inclusive total shown separately. Check which figure you are comparing.

Lead times

As a general guide: stock items 3–7 working days; bulk quantities 7–14 working days; manufactured or imported items 10–21 working days or more. Always confirm at time of order.

Minimum order quantities

Many products are sold per carton (for example 10, 25 or 50 bags). Ask for the carton quantity so you can order in full cartons.
